Fact Check – Mis-Information is the Real Problem
There are now a number of Sound Bath Facilitators who are giving the wrong advice to the public about the safety of sound baths for those with certain medical conditions.
Sound therapy, sound healing and sound bath meditation are all considered to be complementary therapies.   As a Complementary Therapy, we aren’t ever permitted to diagnose the medical condition of any individual, including assessing their suitability for taking part in sound bath meditation – that’s a diagnosis and strictly forbidden by Law unless you are medically qualified as a Doctor.
As a result of so many individuals giving advice beyond the scope of their expertise and qualifications, there is now an increasing amount of mis-information published online about what safety precautions people should follow for sound bath meditation and sound therapy.

The Truth of It Is …
Sound bath is perfectly safe for healthy people of all ages. The deep rest, relaxation and self-healing provided by sound bath meditation is also an excellent way to assist with recovery from all stress-related illness and disease. However, because each individual is unique, this page is general advice only and should never be used as a replacement for advice from your Doctor.
Sound bath should be strictly avoided by those with a very weak immune system including:
-
-
-
- While undergoing Chemotherapy, or for any health condition where your immune system is very weak and your Doctor has advised you to avoid going out in public until you are feeling better and your immune system is strong enough.

For those with a diagnosed medical condition of any kind, you are recommended to ask your Doctor if sound bath is suitable for you. Only your Doctor knows your full medical history and can therefore give you the best advice for your unique situation.
Including:

Sound bath may be perfectly safe for some people with the above listed health conditions, but only with your good Doctors advice. Only your Doctor knows your full medical history and is legally qualified to give an accurate diagnosis of your suitability to take part in sound bath meditation.
Whatever your health condition, including pregnancy, in some cases the deep rest and relaxation provided by an expert sound bath may be wonderful to assist with your health, so always please ask your Doctor.  If you have any medical condition, a Sound Bath Facilitator or Sound Therapist is not legally qualified to advise if sound bath is or isn’t safe for you, only your Doctor is legally qualified to give you this advice.
