What is iSRT© Sound Therapy?
iSRT© Sound Therapy or Integrated Somatic Relaxation Therapy© is a unique & holistic fusion of expert somatic & polyvagal relaxation techniques including iSRT© Therapeutic Sound Massage and Biofield Tuning, Somatic Yoga, iSR© Sound Bath and iSR© Integrated Yoga Nidra, along with nature connection practices from Grá Na gCrainn Forest Bathing and Eco-Therapy infused throughout the holistic sound therapy practice.
The goal of iSRT© is to induce rapid relaxation to reset the vagus nerve and induce a tranquil state of calm and deep rest essential for the most effective self-healing to occur. This self-healing occurs naturally, and effortlessly in response to the expert methods and techniques by the expert iSRT© Master Practitioner.
Using a range of specialised mind body somatic relaxation techniques and targeted sound frequencies, iSRT© effectively and rapidly restores the body to a natural state of balance and harmony. Essential for the body’s own natural self-healing to occur to assist the healthy functioning of all body systems.
The state of calm, deep rest & relaxation induced by the iSRT© Sound Therapy can be an effective intervention for the emotional release of stuck trauma from the biofield and physical body as the body self-heals and brings itself back into perfect balance and harmony.
What Happens During an iSRT© Session?
The iSRT© session can take many forms depending on the goals and needs of the individual. The goals and needs of the client are identified during the consultation phase, and the unique iSRT© treatment plan is designed & created intuitively by the iSRT© Master Practitioner.
The treatment plan may include any combination of the following:
Breathwork: Expert instruction & practice to reset the vagus nerve while bringing clarity, focus and attention to the present moment. This simple practice is so effective it can be used by people of all ages.
iSRT© Integrated Yoga Nidra: Guided meditation with relaxation techniques from real hypnosis to assist with subconscious change and transformation. This optional study module may be studied at any time and also forms part of our unique Advanced Diploma series.
iSRT© Sound Massage & Biofield Tuning: Using a combination of binaural beats and sound therapy instruments placed both on and away from the body, the iSRT© Master Practitioner creates the environt for the sound vibrations to travel through the muscle and tissue for self-healing to occur at a cellular level. Instruments used include Peter Hess© Therapy ade metal singing bowls, Therapy grade tuning forks and other sound therapy instruments while the client lies fully clothed on the therapy table with a blanket over. Additional healing tools such as crystals, pure essential oils, natural flower & plant essences & tinctures may also be included depending on the initial assessment and treatment plan developed by the Master Practitioner.
iSRT© Somatic Relaxation: The expert relaxation techniques employed by the iSRT© Master Practitioner to work on the biofield both around and within the body, are designed to calm the nervous system, reduce pain and improve movement while aiding in the spontaneous release of chronic muscular tension, stress and trauma. iSRT© is a highly effective natural way to reset the nervous system allowing the body’s systems to operate more efficiently for optimum health and wellbeing.

Accreditation
Accreditation is very important way to increase public confidence in your professional qualifications and abilities, and to improve the quality of sound healing & sound therapy industry as a whole. Accreditation of practitioners is essential to maintain quality standards and a complaints process for the public.
For example, if a member of the public has a complaint about a practitioner, they can lodge a complaint with the practitioner’s accreditation body and the practitioner will be notified, and in some cases they may be de-registered.
We have chosen to align with the following accreditation and registration organisations not only for the wonderful training quality standards they provide, which include a Training Provider Code of Conduct – something rarely covered by accreditation organisations, but also for the great insurance discounts available from each of their recommended insurance providers.
Important Note: If you are not registered with an accreditation body you cannot obtain discounts on practitioner insurance. Practitioner insurance is essential to work professionally with therapeutic sound and all complementary therapies.

Teaching Therapists Rock!
The best learning experience you will find by far is by training with a Teaching Therapist – one who is also practising what they teach on a regular basis, by practising as a Therapist with real clients in their own holistic clinic.
This is the industry standard for teaching in complementary therapies and ensures you are learning skills and techniques which really work, not pseudo-skills taken from a book which the Teacher has never actually perfected or further refined by putting into practice with any real clients of their own.
A clinic web page on their Sound Therapy Training website created as an afterthought isn’t evidence of a real clinical practice I’m afraid. A genuine holistic clinic will have it’s own business name and website with regular local advertising.

What is iSRT© Sound Therapy?
iSRT© Sound Therapy is a complementary health treatment, with the client lying comfortably and fully clothed on a therapy table with a blanket over, while the expert practitioner uses a variety of specialist sound therapy musical instruments to create a range of musical sounds. One or more of the musical instruments are placed at certain locations both on and around the body while the sounds are emanating from the instruments.
The goal of iSRT© Sound Therapy is to create the state of calm, deep rest & relaxation necessary for the natural self-healing response to occur, which usually occurs during good quality sleep, in order to reduce stress and therefore promote good health and longevity.
Working in combination with chakra energy centres along with various accupressure and reflexology points, the sound waves generated by the iSRT© Holistic Sound Massage Therapy can be directed to improve the flow of Qi or life-force energy throughout the body. Including where energy may be stuck and in need of clearing and/or a general energy balance.
What are the Health Benefits?
iSRT© Sound Relaxation Therapy is designed to assist with the relief and prevention of the symptoms of many stress-related illnesses and diseases.
The iSRT© method of Holistic Sound Massage Therapy© as developed and taught by our Founder, Sharon Quigley here at International Academy of Sound Therapy, which focuses on the use of high quality therapy grade metal bowls, tuning forks, gongs, chimes and other instruments to generate sound vibrations, is rapidly emerging as a highly effective method of stress reduction therapy.
So far our clinical results are showing that our unique method of iSRT© sound massage therapy is highly effective at rapidly inducing the necessary states of deep rest and relaxation necessary for this self-healing to occur.
In all cases presented so far, this deep rest, relaxation and self-healing has resulted in the reduction and in some cases, the complete elimination of the symptoms of many health conditions including:
